Understand Admin marks-entry screens

Read the selected subject component, student rows and processing summaries, and distinguish a draft entry screen from locked published marks.

For Administrator

On this page

Before you begin

  • Use an authorised Admin account for the correct school.
  • Confirm the academic year and the class, student, invoice or result set relevant to your task.

1. Check the component before reading a student row

In Exams & Results, select the intended result set and read its Marks Entry panel. The draft example is Half yearly, Nursery A · Maths – Oral, with Max Marks 20 and 0/30 marks entered.

Rows show student name, roll number and admission number alongside Marks, Status and optional Remarks. Visible rows have Draft selected and a zero in the mark field, while the panel reports no marks entered. These zeros are not proof of saved zero scores.

The selected Maths – Oral component has a maximum of 20 marks and no entered marks.

2. Separate entry, processing and publication

Save Marks Changes and Publish Results are separate controls below the table. Their presence does not confirm that either action has completed.

The result-wide processing panel shows Marks entered 0/60, Ready to publish 0/60 and Average Not processed. Its explanation says 60 rows still need marks or an absent/withheld status. This is a wider count than the selected component’s 0/30.

Saving marks and publishing results are separate controls; the summary counts expected paper-wise rows.

3. Read an incomplete report-card preview

Report Card Preview lists students with 0 subjects, 0 of 2 components and Incomplete, alongside 0/100.

Read Incomplete and the component counts together. This is not a completed result with a confirmed zero score, or confirmation that a published report is available to a family.

Incomplete report previews show that the required components have not been completed.

4. Recognise the separate published view

A different existing result, Term 1 Nursery A Result, opens as View Marks. Its selected component is English – Oral, with Max Marks 20. Rows show existing marks and Published status.

Near the end of the table, one row says Withheld with Absent / Withheld status. Results Locked appears below. This is a separate published result, not the outcome of saving the draft example above.

When the numbers appear inconsistent

Check the selected result set and component before comparing totals.

The selected component shows 30 rows but processing shows 60
The draft example has two components. The processing summary explicitly counts expected paper-wise rows.
A preview says 0/100 and Incomplete
Check the subject and component counts. Do not report the preview as a final awarded score.
The result is locked
Use the school’s authorised correction process. This guide does not verify unlocking or changing published marks.
